The book by Mario Poslon

Your Freedom Number

An Easy-to-Understand Guide to Financial Freedom

How much money do you need so that you no longer have to work? That number is not a dream of “millions” but a concrete target. Work it out in one minute – then read in the book how to get there, step by step.

What is the Freedom Number?

Your Freedom Number is the amount you would need to have invested to cover your living costs from the returns over the long term. A widely used rule of thumb is the 4% rule: you need about 25 times your annual expenses.

Example from the book: €1,500 expenses per month × 12 = €18,000 per year × 25 = €450,000.

The 4% rule is a simplified rule of thumb based on studies of historical market data, not a guarantee. Returns fluctuate, and inflation, taxes and costs change the result.
